| The Ford Taurus sold by the Ford Motor Company in North America. It is a mid-size car intoduced in
December 1985 as a 1986 model. During its 20 years of production, Ford sold nearly 7 million
Tauruses. In either Chicago, Illinios, most of Tauruses were built. In American Automobile design , this model was a bold new
step. American manufacturer was building a world class car, inspired by successful European designs for the first time in
many decades. Ford Taurus were making huge inroads in the American Premium Sedan market.
In 1992 Ford Taurus was given a major facelift and in 1996 a mojor redesign was given, followed by
two design updates in 2000 and 2004. The Ford Taurus was the
best-selling car in the United States between 1992 and 1996, losing the title in 1997. Ford F-150 remained the country's
best-selling vehicle , during that period. It has a leading sales along with several other vehicles not classified as
"cars".
