Ford Credit company headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan and it is the financial services arm of
Ford Motor Company. In support of its parent company, its business activities are concentrated primarily in the area of
automobile loans. On Ford's behalf, the firm also issues commercial
paper and other debt instruments. Ford Credit is analogous to GMAC and it is very popularly
known. It is The Credit and lending arm of the competitor General motors.
Ford Credit also owns Primus Financial Services. It is formerly known as Primus Automotive
Financial Services. By providing private-label financing to other Ford owned but not Ford badged brands such as Mazda,
Jaguar, Volvo and Land Rover , Primus specializes in non-Ford financing. Primus was formerly known as Marine Midland
Automotive Financial services.
It was owned by Marine Midland Bank of Buffalo, Newyork. In 1990, Ford Credit bought MMAFC and moved the headquarters to
Nashville and later Franklin, Tennessee.
