Information on BMW Motorcycles

BMW started producing branded motorcycles in 1923 having twin engine with two air-cooled cylinders both on opposite sides of the machine. The Flink 2-stroke, Helios motorcycles and M2B15 motors were built by BMW much before it had started producing its own branded machines which were supplied to other companies. The company has made machines such as R series boxer-twin engines, K series I4 engine, I3 and also F series single cylinder engine having variable capacities.

BMW has made R75 motorcycle having sidecar attached during WWII which was almost like a copy of ZUndapp KS750 and was used extensively during that time. It was similar in use like Jeep in various ways having capabilities to perform off road also making it more productive with its sidecar's wheel also driven with the assistance of lockable differential. The BMW motorcycles are heavy and big helping in comfortable sitting and being relaxed while riding and all of these except the F series were using shaft drive instead of the conventional ones.

The R design made by BMW having 4 valve cylinder are oil cooled instead of air cooling and were updated in 2004 to double spark plug cylinder giving more powerful performance. They also introduced the sports bike K1200S which was powerful having 167 bhp engine as well as light in weight than the previous models possessing many innovative and unique eletronically adjustable gadgets.
