Bavarian Motor Works often abbreviated as BMW AG, is a German company which manufactures automobiles & motocycles. It is the worlds largest premium car maker which has many companies under BMW AG acting as a parent company for them, some of which are BMW Mini, Rolls-royce car brands and also for Rover formerly. With its three brands BMW, MINI and Rolly-Royce Motor Cars they have firmly set their sight on the premium sector of the internation automobile market. BMW has been motivated by the highest quality grade and hence no compromises are made, be it research and development or sale and marketing. Their products and services are unmatched in the industry due to their correct strategy which has made them successful in the work. BMW of North America was established in 1975 as the United States importer of BMW luxury and performance vehicle and was assumed import and distribution responsibilities for BMW motorcycles in 1980. They also began to distribute light trucks in 1999. Woodcliff lake, New jersery is the corporate headquarter of BMW. Its eastern regional headquaters technical taining center is Montvale. The company's taglines in english is The Ultimate Driving Machine and "Sheer Driving Pleasure" but in original the German slogan is 'Freude am Fahren' which translates to Joy in Driving in English.

An e-code is assigned to each generation by BMW, where E resembles evolution, which help them differenciate between the series. If new series are introduced or the design of the series are to be changed then these codes, also know as chassis codes, are changed accordingly. It has been predicted that BMW would be using the letter F for the models in future.
